Why does Subliminal Messaging work and is it purely Mind over Matter?

The why is all about the how - as is often the case with almost any " why does it work " question.

You may already know, or at least suspect, that Subliminal Messages work quite well and quite easily - after all, by the nineteen seventies, they were banned from advertising in the United States, the United Kingdom and Australia on the grounds that they could, effectively, mislead people. All the solid research, however, has shown that Subliminal Messages only really work when the individual being exposed to them has a clearly defined target or objective which they wish to achieve.

There is also plenty of evidence to suggest that Subliminal Messages do not work at all. The academic research pointing to such conclusions is quite interesting, because it almost always relies on subjecting a test audience to messages of which those individuals had no pre-warning, and in fact were usually unaware what the messages were, and in many cases often kept completely ignorant that they were being exposed to any Subliminal techniques at all.

In essence, it is clear, however, that for Subliminal Messages to have any beneficial impact at all, the following three qualifiers have to be satisfied: In other words, simply seeing an advertisement containing a Subliminal Message of one type or another (flashing words and images have been tried over and over again!), once or twice on TV will have absolutely no impact on the audience in any way except, possibly outrage when they realize what is happening! It has become extremely obvious over the years, that advertisers who try these tricks usually do so purely in order to get more press and media coverage for their campaign. No-one actually thinks that this kind of subliminal messaging works at all! There is also no point just thinking that you might try out Subliminal Messaging to help you achieve something, listen to the audio album once or twice and then complaining that it didn't work! That would be like buying a piece of gym kit and moaning that it wasn't much good because it had no effect on your physique after you had used it a couple of times!

The HOW of Subliminal Messages is therefore this: repeated and voluntary exposure to Subliminal Messages WILL have an effect IF you volunteer and persevere. Your subconscious mind will absorb the set of subliminal instructions and you will gradually react to them positively.

The WHY is because you have a positive frame of mind at the outset, because you have a specific target to achieve and because you have absolutely set your mind on achieving that objective. It is all to do with you and your own doggedness in pursuit of your ambitions.

To put it another way entirely, you are determined to achieve something, and you have absolutely decided that you will push yourself to do it AND you have either usually failed to achieve that objective in the past or you are simply lacking the confidence to succeed. Time to train your mind to use a Mind Over Matter technique. Quite simple really. IF you have a clearly defined objective, whether it is weight-loss, or increasing self-confidence in certain situations, or decreasing your tendency to be distracted when you are working, or improving your ability to learn a new language, THEN repeated exposure to a Subliminal audio album WILL embed the subtly powerful messages into your subconscious and you will THEN gradually start to benefit.
Now go to Andrew Wright's website to view other useful information on these life changing techniques. Andrew's interest in Subliminal messages started when he got rid of his life-long hay fever affliction through the use of a specific Subliminal Audio recording and continues to this day, because of his sheer amazement at such success!

As a marketing tool, some types of subliminal messaging will always be used I think. Fast food companies have been successful at it for years!
